Microbiology Waste

New legislation has made it increasingly difficult to dispose of microbiology waste even after autoclaving because of the potential mixture of hazards. Free liquid can no longer be sent to landfill, and therefore broths and slopes have to be treated differently. Many foods, particularly those of animal origin, are also prohibited. Because of the incinerators we use, we are able to dispose of wastes that are not autoclaved, and therefore our service is ideal for the modern microbiologist's diverse mixture.

LEL provide weekly collections of bagged or theatre-binned materials. Most are sent to an "Energy from Waste" incinerator, ensuring not only that your wastes are destroyed in the most effective and hygienic manner, but also the heat generated is used to produce electricity.
